Professional Services

Town and Country Planning has been the cornerstone of my business throughout my professional career. Your problem may be new and personal to you, but almost certainly I will have dealt with many similar issues over the years.

My task is to first put your proposal into context, and in particular the Local Planning Authority’s Development Plan and National Planning Policy, to agree a strategy with you.My input can range from writing supporting application/appeal statements to managing the application or appeal from start to finish. I have frequently given expert evidence at planning public inquiries. Much of my work involves sites within the Green Belt, National Parks, Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Conservation Areas.

Over the years, I have  developed a strong network of Barristers, Ecologists, Environmentalists, Highway Consultants, Noise & Lighting Consultants, Draughtsmen and Landscape Architects to ensure that every case is fully supported by the appropriate technical information.

Notable successes include:

  • Quashing an Enforcement Notice with a full costs award in East Sussex.
  • Gaining Planning Permission for a holiday let conversion in East Sussex;
  • Removing an AOC and associated S106 Agreement on a dwelling outside Lewes;
  • Winning a High Court Judicial Review to quash a Lawful Development Certificate issued by the South Downs National Park Authority;
  • Gaining Planning Permission on appeal, with costs, for a supervisory dwelling on an equestrian establishment in Devon;
